Dr. Thomas Welsh

Dr. Thomas Welsh grew up on a farm outside of Brookfield, Mo.  The farm has been in Dr. Welsh's family since approximately 1850, in continuous operation.  Dr. Welsh enjoyed raising cattle, sheep, hogs etc., and was very active in the county 4-H livestock programs.  This childhood enthusiasm for all things animals led Dr. Welsh to the University of Missouri-Columbia where he graduated with an undergraduate degree in Animal Science and ultimately a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1987.  After graduation, Dr. Welsh relocated to Los Angeles, Ca., and for the next eight years he practiced high tech veterinary medicine in some of the busiest veterinary hospitals in the United States.  After marriage to his wife, Carol, a native Californian, he and Carol elected to return to Missouri to start a family.  They have been blessed with three daughters.  In 2005, after eighteen years of practice, Dr. Welsh opened Parkville Animal Wellness LLC.  His goal is to practice high quality veterinary medicine in a state of the art hospital; he is also active in the community.  He volunteers his time for the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter, the Parkville Chamber of Commerce, and the Parkville Chapter of Business Networking International.  His hobbies include kayaking, biking, and spending time with his family and friends.

Joni Gray

Joni has been working in the veterinary field, as an assistant for over six and a half years.  When she is not at work, she is in school.  She is a  Rockhurst University graduate and graduated with a degree in Psychology.  At home, she has two dogs, two cats, two birds.  At Parkville Animal Wellness she is responsible for assisting Dr. Welsh and his technician with daily appointments, surgeries, and reception work.  She is also responsible for taking care of animals boarding with us at our pet hotel.  Joni is an asset to our team, and we are very lucky to have her.
